Hello there! Thanks so much for stopping by! I want to take some time to introduce myself. That sounds fairly simple but when I start to write, I find it’s not as easy as it sounds. I’ve found several passions in my life and I’m excited to share them all here.
First, and foremost, I am a wife to the most amazing husband and father! We are college sweethearts and just so happen to share the same profession- high school agriculture teachers. I put wife on the top of my list because without this relationship our family wouldn’t be possible. We’ve been together nine years and married for two of those. This past May we welcomed our first child, Emery Jane Castle. She is a bundle of energy and spirit that has filled our lives with so much love, laughter and hope. As I type this she is circling the couch in her walker trying to get us to chase her around the house.
I started teaching agriculture in 2011 at Golden West High School. I am truly passionate about agriculture, serving others and being an example for students to follow. I live by the golden rule and teach my students that treating others how they want to be treated is something to value. I also base my teaching on hard work, integrity and work ethic. I believe being a contributing member to society is more meaningful than a letter grade.
My newest and most recent interest is health and fitness. Growing up, I never considered myself healthy or an athlete. Fast forward to three years ago- I was “skinny fat,” ate and drank whatever I felt like and couldn’t walk up a flight of stairs without being completely winded at the top. This wasn’t going to cut it for a mid-twenty year old. I started with running (something I absolutely despised). Over time I transitioned from running to strength training. I wanted more but wasn’t quite sure what that was. Cue Team BeachBody! Through TBB I have found a support network and accountability to help me push myself even harder to maintain my new healthy lifestyle. I love that I can work out at home while the little one watches. Being a good role model to her and teaching her to love herself both mentally and physically is so important to me and TBB is helping me do just that.
Everything that I have done has come from choices that I’ve made. It’s funny to think about how some of our smallest choices can have the biggest impact on us. While I know I don’t and never will have all the answers, I look forward to constantly pushing myself and working to be the best version of me that I can be. I trust in God’s plan for me and find myself always referring back to a quote by Teddy Roosevelt, “Do what you can, with what you have, where you are.”
